Stayed here with wife in May/June 2008. Nice hotel. Very affordable foodstuff and souvenirs in its lobby attached shopping complex. Believe it was called Thai village or something like that. Hotel has two wings.. The Doi Suithep wing is the more posh and up class.. and the Huay Kaew wing is the budget wing. Both are acceptable, depending on your budget. Look out for the Candlelight Market outside the SHopping malls in the evenings. Very affordable local stuff. Hot pants going for 79bhat.. pedicures going for 5 bhat a finger etc.. :) Lots of foodstuff. Enjoyable experience.

Wat Chiang Yeun (The Temple Of Long Life) is located on Thanon Mani Nopparat, the road which runs along the northern moat of the Old City. Chiang Mai’s kings used to pay homage here to the Phra Suppunyu Chao Buddha image in the viharn. It is also known for its white and golden pagoda.

Nancy bar changed ownership early this year (2007) and is now owned by a Japanese guy and his Thai girlfriend. Can't say it's improved any...to be honest it's gone the other way. Most of the time it sits empty, devoid of customers with only a few very bored staff in it looking a bit lost. In order to compensate for the lack of customers they have put their prices up too...not a clever move. The owner has even taken to shouting in other bars blaming them for his lack of customers...not very businesslike or proffesional and deffinately with a huge amount of jealousy thrown in. There are many other bars in the city (some very nearby) that are worth going too....this isn't one of them.
